Overview

The Beef Deli by Refined Selections - Malolos carves out a cozy corner for steak enthusiasts and casual diners alike in Malolos, Bulacan. Situated along the busy stretch of MacArthur Highway, this restaurant offers a solid and approachable take on specialty beef dishes in a quietly inviting setting.

The highlight, unsurprisingly, is the Dry-Aged Ribeye Steak. The restaurant shows it can deliver a tender, medium-rare cut with a commendable thickness and portion size. Although some find the sauce unremarkable, it complements the beef without overpowering it. Other cuts, such as the Picanha Steak and Aussie Chuck Steak Rice, maintain this balance between flavor and portion that suits diners seeking satisfying yet affordable steak meals.

The menu extends beyond steaks, venturing successfully into comfort food territory. The Puffed Mushroom Soup impresses with its hot, flavorful broth and the playful inclusion of puff pastry, adding texture to the experience. However, occasional substitutions, like garlic bread replacing the pastry, suggest minor inconsistency in execution. The Truffle Pasta, while rich and cheesy, leans heavily on its cheese content, which may not suit those expecting a more subtle truffle essence.

For burger lovers, the Dry Aged Burger and Fries with Cheese offer a decent choice, though some reviews note an off-putting char that dims an otherwise solid attempt. Meanwhile, the Summer Salad adds a refreshing balance to the predominantly hearty menu, appealing to customers seeking lighter options.

The dining space at The Beef Deli is compact but comfortable — a little nook perfect for casual meals. Parking can be a challenge, with street parking the primary option, though the atmosphere inside maintains a relaxed ambiance ideal for small groups or solo diners. The staff shows attentiveness, even if initial order errors occasionally occur, reflecting a willingness to accommodate and improve service.

The Beef Deli by Refined Selections targets a broad audience: from budget-conscious steak lovers to families and individuals wanting a straightforward, no-frills dining experience centered around quality beef. It is not about extravagant fine dining, but rather delivering solid flavors with an honest value proposition. While some dishes shine brighter than others, the overall experience provides a dependable spot for those in Malolos craving a good steak and hearty fare without the fuss.

We visited The Beef Deli on a rainy Saturday around 2 PM, and parking was easy with only a few diners around. The steak was cooked medium rare and enjoyable. It’s not the best I’ve had, but for the price, the thickness and portion are definitely appreciated. The sauce was ordinary — nothing fancy, but enough to complement the steak. The burger, unfortunately, was a different story. I didn’t enjoy the slightly burnt taste, though everything else was about what you’d expect for the price. Overall, it’s good enough to fill your stomach, but don’t expect anything extraordinary. Solid value for the price, especially if you’re just looking for a casual meal.

Delicious affordable steak. Chef knows how to cook a proper steak. The mushroom pastry soup is a show. Nice to break and hot to taste. Truffle pasta is a bit too cheesy for me. I was expecting a creamier taste to compliment the truffle essence but I think they over did the cheese. Still nice to try.

Perfect burger! Plating is superb. T-bone is great considering the size and quality. Nice little nook. Get parking elsewhere.

The dry aged steak was good. "Well done" was a little bit "medium rare". Will try the classic ones next time.

The food was alright. My mom had to return her steak kasi mali ung doneness. And mali ung binigay na drinks nung una. The staff was very accommodating naman. The mushroom soup didn't have a puff pastry as advertised, so garlic bread nalang pinalit. They had plenty of frozen stock. Street parking only.

The steaks were good and what I expected for its low price point. Just make sure you opt for medium well or rarer. And eat it right away as it gets chewy as it gets cold. Loved the puffed mushroom soup. Service was good and they’re well staffed. And resto was clean and neat. They also sell a variety of frozen meats for home cooking (I bought some). Parking is limited and may be a problem during peak hours though.
